

I just wish it would retain a starting pose that I export from Daz.īottom line is that there ARE workarounds to my issues, I was just hoping that this Daz to Blender script would improve my workflow, but I can't really use it because it doesn't import poses. Also, I REALLY like the nice rig that the bridge attaches to my Daz models when I import them into Blender with that utility, it makes it very easy to tweak poses once they are in my Blender scene. Yes I know I can simply export/import posed models from Daz without the bridge (I often use FBX and collada export). However I run into a lot of annoying issues, often my poses are slightly messed up, and there are weird materials issues when doing this also, causing me to have to go in and manually tweak them. There are also a lot of special effects (volumetrics, particles, fluid sims, fire and magic effects, etc etc) that I add to my scene in Blender to get the best ref possible for my 2D paintings.īottom line is that I find Daz as a program to be extremely clunky, slow and limited, but you can't beat its library of models or its posing capabilities. There's also the fact that Blender is just an infinitely faster and more nimble program for moving, repositining, rotating and scaling things in my scene, as well as quickly experimenting with lighting because with Eevee real-time rendering. The main thing is that I build environments in Blender, using Daz characters and props as well as terrains and models/scultps that I create myself in Blender.

I want posed Daz figures in my Blender scenes for a lot of reasons. The answer is that I don't just use Daz characters for pose ref, although posing is one aspect. If you're just using them for posing reference, why do you need them in Gordig Good question. Where is the directory of the temp exchange files?

Did you find any other wrong materials too? Some materials still don't look correct, such as the eyelashes here, which looks grayish. Moving a box is slightly slower than usual. But it still dramatically slows down my pretty beefy computer. I only ported Subdiv=0 model, it seems very lowpoly in blender.
